Preparing for a Video Consultation: A Practical Checklist
Video consultations use the same case-taking depth as an in-person visit — what changes is the physical setting, not the questions asked. A little preparation on your end goes a long way toward making the call itself efficient.
Before the call
Complete the Guided Case Intake if you haven't already — it's the same form either way, and it means the video time is spent on your specific case rather than repeating basic history. Keep any lab reports or prescriptions open or nearby so you can reference them without hunting for them mid-call. Note down your own questions in advance; it's easy to forget them once the conversation starts.
During the call
Find a quiet, well-lit spot with a stable connection — if the video freezes, audio-only is a perfectly fine fallback and the doctor will say so. If you're describing a skin complaint or something visible, having good lighting nearby (a window or a lamp) helps far more than camera quality does.
After the call
Any follow-up instructions, whether about medication, diet, or a repeat visit, will be confirmed over WhatsApp or email so you have a written record to refer back to.
